A special day today. Her Royal Highness Princess Margriet has opened the Visitor Centre for the Military War Cemeteries of the Brabantse Wal in Bergen op Zoom—a place where we have the privilege of presenting the personal stories of the soldiers buried here, as part of the ‘Faces To Graves BoZ’ project.
The military war cemeteries in Bergen op Zoom are the final resting place for more than 2,400 Allied service members who gave their lives during the Second World War, as well as a number of service members from the First World War.
Princess Margriet is given a tour and speaks with board members and volunteers.
Stories about the liberation of West Brabant during the Second World War are told in the visitor centre.
